Emotional Obstacles

An emotional obstacle I dealt with in high school was seeing the true colors in people, such as ex best friends. A specific example is one of my best friends who had secret animosity towards me and I barely found out, and when I did I felt betrayed. I had trusted her with many things and we hung out all the time so it was strange for her to dislike me when I had always been there for her. However she wasn’t the only person because I stopped talking to many people throughout these four years. In the beginning, I was upset because these people were very close to me, however as I understood more and more about myself I realized I didn’t care anymore and that life goes on.

Past Actions

An action that was tough for me to act upon was cutting people off for my own good. Specifically, two of my best friends from junior year. I finally came to the realization that they weren’t benefitting me at all, in fact, they were “still” people- people that are still broke, still unmotivated, still hating and still not making changes. When you surround yourself with people like that who have no goals, it emits on you, and I didn’t want that for myself. This was tough to act upon because they had been my best friends for 2 years and I didn’t want to let them go because we had history, however it was ultimately going to improve my well being. Looking back at this a few months later I notice that this has impacted me in a very positive and healthy manner.

Legacy

Best friend

Me and my best friend have a humorous relationship. We are always finding something to laugh about and it is never a dull moment with her. We also are always uplifting each other and making eachother feel confident. I feel like she would say that I was a very funny and fun person to be around because we always make eachother laugh. We both have different vibes and personalities but at the same time we are like the same person underneath, because we have the exact same humor and it is unmatched. I feel like she would also mention that I am very considerate and compassionate because I would check up on her at random times to make sure she is doing good and assist her with whatever she needed.

Epitaphs

Floyd Patterson Epitaph: “A champion always”

I find this specific epitaph memorable and significant because this person was very well known at boxing and won an Olympic gold medal. Even though it is only 3 words, it really says a lot about him and his career knowing that he was very high performing in boxing.

Frank Sinatra Epitaph: “The best is yet to come”

I find this epitaph significant because Sinatra was a recognizable and talented music artist. This quote is recognizing that hope lies beyond life and he will still have good days and a better place awaits him. In addition it pays homage to one of his hit songs he made before he died.

My Epitaph

The average person smiles about 50 times a day but she exceeded that by a lot.

This represents how happy I am always and gleeful. I always like to smile and be in a positive mood because happiness is contagious. If someone I knew was blue, I would definitely be the person to cheer them up. Statistically the average adult smiles about 30-5o times a day and a baby could smile up to 400 times per day. I would say I have a young soul because I still like to enjoy children’s shows and movies  sometimes to throw me back to nostalgic times. This epitaph implies my everyday mood and that I am usually a very uplifting and cheerful person.
